The soil sample is a crucial to get a cuv\u00e9e certified \u201cVOLCANIC ORIGIN. It helps to determine if the soil on which the vines that produced the wine in question are located is indeed situated on a volcanic terroir.<\/span><\/p>

If you do not already have a soil test report issued by an accredited soil testing laboratory and proving evidence of established volcanic rock, then we have to ask you to send a soil sample to VINORA, which will then be forwarded for analysis to a partner laboratory or expert.<\/span><\/p>

This is how to proceed:<\/p>

  • Out in the vineyard plot used to make the mark-eligible cuv\u00e9e, use an earth augur to hand-take the first 60 to 80 centimeters<\/span> deep into the soil (Horizon 1).<\/li>
  • Take 4 soil samples per plot\/ha.<\/li>
  • Each sample should be the equivalent of roughly a fistful (250g), i.e. 4 \u00d7 250g = max 1kg per plot.<\/li>
  • Send the collected sample to this address:<\/li><\/ul>

    As a reminder, shipping costs for sending the sample are borne by the operator (applicant filing for use of the mark), and the soil test costs are invoiced at the cuv\u00e9e declaration step.<\/p>

    Complete with a permanent marker and send by email along with the soil sample <\/span>:<\/pre>
